Lionel Messi is one the foremost football [soccer] players from Argentina and has been known to have been considered as a new generation of his country's players after Maradona. He was born in Rosario, Argentina on the 24th of June 1987 and started early in football [soccer].
He has been associated with Newell's Old Boys and FC Barcelona and is currently a winger and striker for the latter. He is also a shining star in the Argentine National Football [Soccer] team in spite of the reverses of the team and its erratic coach called Diego Armando Maradona.

A few months after "the anointing" of Messi as successor, he accuses Messi of being egoist with the ball and not sharing the ball with fellow teammates. It is as a response to the injust criticism that Messi received that he deserves to be profiled.

It was with FC Barcelona that he continued his meteoric rise to professional football. He has made scored sixty one goals within one hundred and twenty three appearances during his professional career.
The association of Messi with the Argentinian National Football [Soccer] Team has been characterized with twenty one goals within fifty three appearances. It also included his participation in the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing, China. The honors that have been bestowed to Lionel Messi are plenty and have been earned with hard work on the field.
He is the recipient of the following awards for FC Barcelona: La Liga, Cope Del Rey, Supercopa de Espa~na, UEFA Championship League, UEFA Super Cup. Mr. Messi also won the Gold Medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics as well as the FIFA U-20 [under 20] World Cup in 2005.
Lionel Messi has also been a recipient of more awards such as U-21 European Footballer of the Year, FIFA U-20 World Cup Top Scorer, FIFA U-20 World Cup Player of The Tournament, Player of the Year for Argentina, UEFA Team of the Year, FIFA Team of the Year, Alfredo Di Stefano Trophy, UEFA Club Forward of the Year, UEFA Club Footballer of the Year, UEFA Champions League Top Scorer, EFE Trophy for being the best Ibero-American Player in La Liga which is the Spanish League.
He also celebrated 2009 by becoming the latest recipient of the Onze D'Or which is the European Footballer of the Year award sponsored by the French Magazine Onza Mondial. Congratulations to Lionel Messi for his accomplishments.
